I spent several days capturing aerial stills and footage of the Olympic Park in London from an AS355 helicopter, including key landmarks such as the London Stadium, ArcelorMittal Orbit, and the London Aquatics Centre. It was a very early start this week, we took off from the aerodrome at 5.30am to be in London just after sunrise. Lovely flying in town at that time of day as there’s so little other air traffic about and light can be just fantastic.

Early morning mist over London
This morning’s flight offered stunning views over London, particularly Canary Wharf, enhanced by the early morning light. Despite a bit of fog, city vistas were distinctly visible. After refueling the AS355 helicopter, another two hours were spent photographing London’s striking aerial views, including the Docklands and Isle of Dogs.
